Diane Ravitch
Network for Public Education
Diane Ravitch is an education historian, education policy activist, and former research professor of education at New York University. She is the Co-Founder and President of the Network for Public Education (NPE). She has written and edited several books. She taught at Teachers College, Columbia University, from 1976-1991. From 1991 to 1993, she served as the United States Assistant Secretary of Education, and from 1997 to 2004, she was a member of the National Assessment Governing Board, which oversees the National Assessment of Educational Progress.
