Faith Boninger Testimony re. Vermont H.650

NEPC’s Commercialism in Education Research Unit (CERU) has published extensive research examining the pedagogical and privacy implications of students’ use of digital platforms in schools. Vermont’s H. 650, introduced in 2026, proposes that providers of student-facing products to be used in Vermont public schools be required to register the products with the state. CERU research supports this kind of legislation, as described below in testimony to the Vermont House Committee on Commerce and Economic Development.
