Kameisha Smith

Nollie Jenkins Family Center

Kameisha Smith has been involved in social justice work since as far back as her elementary years. In 2005, she and other youth spent two years obtaining signatures on a petition for playground equipment for their elementary school. Not only were they successful in obtaining the equipment for their school, but for all elementary and middle schools in the District. Since that time, Smith has continued community activism work, transitioning from youth leader to youth organizer, and currently Youth Program Coordinator with the Nollie Jenkins Family Center, recruiting and training students to develop a Youth Leadership Pipeline of students who are able to impact policy and make a difference in their schools and communities.
